    Get PDF
An effort has been made in this study to measure the impact of public policies on women health in Indian. This Paper has been divided into three parts: first part of the study shows the trend and pattern of the public policies on women health from 2004 to 2015. Secondly, this paper explored the effectiveness of the health policies and in order to find out the effectiveness, we have used Anova with post hoc test. Lastly, we have used regression analysis to find out the impact of public policies on women health in India

Optimization and analysis of cutting parameters using cryogenic media in machining of high strength alloy steel

    Get PDF
In this research, liquid Argon is used as a cryogenic media to optimize the cutting parameters for evaluation of tool flank wear width of Tungsten Carbide Insert (CNMG 120404-WF 4215) while turning high strength alloy steel. Robust design concept of Taguchi L9 (34) method is applied to determine the optimum conditions. This analysis revealed is revealed that cryogenic impact is more significant in reduction of the tool flank wear

The philosophy of Islamic economics is "brining economics in consonance with Shariah", guiding Islamic banking and finance to abolish interest from operations, has reported a monumental growth, envisaged the most lucrative and unsusceptible segment of the economy. Islamic finance is undoubtedly flourishing worldwide entails trajectory development but at other front it encounters a number of impediments in development since its inception. The emphasis of this study is to encapsulate in tabular form, the contemporary problems and challenges Islamic finance has encountered during the span of last 28-years from 1988 to 2015. The austere Shariah compliance; regulatory and prudential challenges; misconception among western society about Islamic banking philosophy; unavailability of money and capital market for scant Islamic financial instruments; piercing competition; privation of Islamic banking and finance awareness; absence of uniform reporting standards; complexities of regulatory and supervisory issues; lack of central supervisory body, governance and dearth of consensus among Shariah scholars been the precarious challenges among many others. A unified central regulatory and supervisory mechanism required in converging sprinkled Islamic finance practices and to foster a synchronized and standardized regulatory framework consensus need to be developed among all Shariah scholar

KD Construction is a new company in the construction industry, it was opened by Mr. Irfan and Mr. Kamran on February 6, 2013. The company constructs houses for individuals and for builders, commercial shopping malls and also works as a subcontractor for big construction companies like Habib, Paragon and AMCE Private Limited. KD worked on only small projects till now, but on January 17, 2018 Mr. Irfan received a call from a builder to work with him on a new project.  This will be the first time that they   got a contract from a big builder and they were asked to build houses for four variants of areas (in square yards 150, 250, 300 and 600) on which they had to work. They gave  their final price of 107 crores and 50 lacs for the whole project,  but they heard from the market that other construction companies were also trying for this project but the builder preferred them for this project.   Mr. Irfan and Mr. Kamran have to estimate costs for the overall project whether to accept the project or not, to analyze whether the offered price was suitable or not and if they had estimated cost of total project they can negotiate on final price if the price is not suitable. As KD is in existence for five years, KD’s employees are well aware of the prices and conditions of the country moreover, country’s economic conditions can fluctuate any time due to political instability. With the experience of five years, KD construction wanted to estimate a budget for the whole project of 20 acres on which they have to construct 75% houses and 25% of amenities (Mosque, Road, Park, School, Hospital) (See Exhibit 1) in one year.

Ultrasound Detected Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Prevalence and its Risk Factors in Pakistani Population

Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common predictor of chronic liver disease. It is an emerging health condition in Pakistan and in most cases, the disease remains undiagnosed due to a low trend of screening processes observed over the years. The purpose of this research was to assess the relationship of ultrasonography (USG) – detected NAFLD with the risk factors including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and menopause. Methods: This cross-sectional study evaluated the data gathered from medical histories, anthropometric measurements, and diagnostic abdominal ultrasound scans of 87 patients referred to radiology department of a trust hospital in Lahore, Pakistan. Patient diagnosed with NAFLD without any other disease or complication were selected through purposive sampling for further study. Results: The results depicted a higher prevalence of NAFLD in females. Among diagnosed NAFLD patients, most (33.7%) showed signs of mild fatty liver on USG. Statistically, a significant (p value= 0.002) relationship of obesity with NAFLD was observed. NAFLD patients had higher mean BMI values (31.04 ± 4.67 Kg/m2, p value = 0.000) as compared to other patients (25.34 ± 4.71 Kg/m2), confirming that obesity is the most important risk factor for NAFLD. Other risk factors (diabetes, hypertension, and menopause) were not found to be significantly related to NAFLD.Conclusion: The major finding of this study is that higher BMI increases the likelihood of developing NAFLD. Prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity can reduce the prevalence of NAFLD.          Keywords: Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease; Obesity; Cirrhosis

Rapid plant regeneration of chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium l.) through shoot tip culture

Shoot multiplication of chrysanthemum was achieved from shoot tip explant, using MS media supplemented with different concentrations and combinations of plant growth regulators. Different parameters including shoot initiation percentage, average number of shoots per explant, length of shoots (cm), number of leaves per shoot and number of nodes per shoot were studied during the course of study. Low concentration of indole-acetic acid (IAA, 0.1 mg/l) excelled all the other concentrations in almost all the parameters studied when used alone, as maximum shoot initiation (86.6%), shoot per explants (3.9), length of shoots (4.3 cm), number of leaves (10.0) and nodes (4.8)were recorded in it. Intermediate concentration of benzyladenine purine (BAP, 1.0 mg/l) is superior to all the other BAP concentrations used when used alone. MS media fortified with 1.0 mg/l BAP hadproduced the maximum shoot initiation (93.3%), shoot per explant (4.1), length of shoots (5.0 cm) number of leaves (11.0) and nodes (5.5). Similarly, when the combination of different concentrations ofIAA and BAP were used, significant results regarding the regeneration of chrysanthemum plantlets were achieved. MS media supplemented with intermediate levels of BAP (1.0 and 2.0 mg/l) along withlower concentrations of IAA (0.1 and 0.2 mg/l) showed better results as compared to other concentrations and combinations. Satisfactory rooting response was obtained in half strength MS media supplemented with 0.2 mg/l indole butyric acid (IBA)
